Is Golden Corral Open on Christmas Day 2026?
Most Golden Corral restaurants are expected to be closed on Christmas Day, Friday, December 25, 2026.
Golden Corral traditionally closes its restaurants on Christmas Day, allowing employees to spend the holiday with their families. Therefore, customers should not plan a Christmas Day buffet visit unless their specific restaurant confirms that it will be operating.
If you are looking for a Christmas meal, consider visiting on Christmas Eve or checking whether your local restaurant offers holiday meals, catering, or takeout before Christmas Day.
Because individual restaurants can have different schedules, always verify the hours of the specific location before making plans.
Is Golden Corral Open on Christmas Eve 2026?
Many Golden Corral restaurants are expected to open on Christmas Eve, Thursday, December 24, 2026.
However, Christmas Eve is a holiday and restaurants may use modified hours. A location that normally stays open late may close earlier than usual on December 24.
Rather than assuming that every Golden Corral follows the same schedule, check your local restaurant before visiting.
What Are Golden Corral Christmas Eve Hours?
A commonly reported Christmas Eve schedule is approximately:
10:00 AM – 9:00 PM
However, these should be treated as expected hours rather than a guaranteed nationwide schedule for 2026.
Some restaurants may:
- Open at their normal time
- Close earlier than normal
- Change buffet serving hours
- Adjust takeout or catering hours
- Operate on a location-specific holiday schedule
If you plan to arrive close to closing time, calling ahead is especially recommended.

Why Is Golden Corral Closed on Christmas Day?
Christmas Day is one of the major holidays when Golden Corral typically closes its restaurants.
The closure gives restaurant employees an opportunity to spend Christmas with their families rather than working a normal buffet service.
That means customers should plan their Golden Corral Christmas meal before or after December 25 if their local restaurant follows the standard holiday closure.
How to Check Golden Corral Christmas Hours Near You
The easiest way to confirm Christmas hours is to check the specific Golden Corral restaurant you plan to visit.
Golden Corral Official Location Finder
Step 1: Find your restaurant
Search using your:
- ZIP code
- City
- Address
- Current location
Step 2: Open the location page
Look for the restaurant’s address, phone number, regular hours and available services.
Step 3: Check holiday information
If Christmas hours have been published, the location may display a modified schedule.
Step 4: Call before visiting
If the Christmas schedule is not shown online, call the restaurant directly.
This is particularly important on Christmas Eve, when restaurants may close earlier than their normal schedule.
Are Golden Corral Hours the Same at Every Location?
No. Golden Corral restaurants can have location-specific operating hours and services.
This is one of the biggest weaknesses of simply publishing a nationwide holiday schedule.
Two Golden Corral restaurants in different cities may have different:
- Opening times
- Closing times
- Breakfast hours
- Holiday hours
- Takeout availability
- Delivery availability
- Catering schedules
Therefore, a nationwide time such as 10 AM–9 PM should never be presented as guaranteed for every restaurant.
For the most accurate information, check the individual location.
Can You Eat at Golden Corral on Christmas Eve?
Yes, many locations are expected to be open on Christmas Eve.
Christmas Eve can actually be a convenient alternative for families who want a Golden Corral buffet before Christmas Day.
If you’re planning a large family meal, consider:

You may find seasonal favorites alongside regular Golden Corral buffet items, such as:
- Turkey
- Ham
- Chicken

Don’t assume that every item is available at every restaurant. Buffet selections can change based on location, meal period and availability.
Can You Order Golden Corral Takeout on Christmas?
Takeout availability depends on the restaurant and its holiday schedule.
If your local Golden Corral is open on Christmas Eve, it may offer To Go options, but holiday ordering times can be different from normal days.
If you want to order a meal for a Christmas gathering, contact your local restaurant early and ask about:
- To Go meals

- Holiday meals
- Catering
- Pickup times
- Advance ordering
If the restaurant is closed on Christmas Day, normal takeout service will not be available that day.

Don’t wait until Christmas Day to arrange catering. Contact your preferred location ahead of time to discuss menu options, pricing, pickup and delivery availability.
Can You Buy Golden Corral Holiday Meals to Go?
Some Golden Corral restaurants offer meals and food for pickup, including holiday-related options during the seasonal period.
Availability is location-specific, so customers should check their nearest restaurant before assuming that a particular holiday meal is available.
If you’re preparing for a large gathering, advance ordering is a much safer option than waiting until the last minute.
Is Golden Corral Open the Day After Christmas?
Most locations are expected to reopen after Christmas Day, but the exact schedule depends on the restaurant.
The day after Christmas in 2026 is:
Saturday, December 26, 2026.

Is Golden Corral Open on New Year’s Day 2027?
New Year’s Day is Friday, January 1, 2027.
Many Golden Corral restaurants are expected to reopen on New Year’s Day, but individual restaurant hours can vary.
If you’re planning a New Year’s Day buffet, check your local restaurant’s schedule before leaving home.
Golden Corral Christmas vs. Thanksgiving Hours

Golden Corral often promotes holiday buffet options around Thanksgiving, while Christmas Day is traditionally a major closure day.
If you’re specifically looking for Thanksgiving information, see our detailed guide to the Golden Corral Thanksgiving Menu.
For Christmas, always check the restaurant’s holiday schedule.
